What Is HammondCare?

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity specialising in aged care and dementia, palliative care, rehabilitation, older persons mental health and young onset dementia. Regarded nationally and internationally as one of Australia's most innovative health and aged care providers, HammondCare offers hospital care, residential care and community services throughout NSW. HammondCare's origins go back to 1932 when Anglican Archdeacon R B S Hammond, in response to the eviction of inner-city, rent-paying families in Sydney during the Depression, provided families with homes through a rent purchase program on land now known as Hammondville, near Liverpool. He used his superannuaton funds in the financing. HammondCare today continues his mission of care for people in need. HammondCare is passionate about improving the quality of life for older people in need and has a particular commitment to dementia care and research as well as to older people who are financially disadvantaged.
