What Is TransGrid?

Every day TransGrid connects you to the electricity you use, 24/7. Operator and manager of the main high voltage transmission network in NSW and the ACT, we connect generators, distributors and major end users to the electricity they need, when they need it. Our core role is to provide safe, reliable and efficient transmission services to NSW, the ACT and the National Electricity Market. Our network comprises 99 bulk supply substations and more than 12,900 kilometres of high voltage transmission lines and cables. Interconnected to QLD and VIC, the network provides a strong electricity system enabling energy trading between Australia’s three largest states along the east coast and supporting a competitive wholesale electricity market.
