What Is Hamilton County Tourism?

We message. We move. We make it fun. Founded in 1990, Hamilton County Tourism, Inc. is the authority on tourism marketing and development for Hamilton County, the third largest tourism destination in the state. Hamilton County Tourism (HCT) is accredited by the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program, an industry distinction that defines quality and performance standards for tourism management worldwide. Most recently, HCT was named a 2018 Best Places to work in Indiana. With an office located in Carmel, Hamilton County Tourism promotes the county’s eight cities and towns—Arcadia, Atlanta, Carmel, Cicero, Fishers, Noblesville, Sheridan and Westfield—each offering a unique set of attractions, special events and accommodations. The county is home to more than 4,000 hotel rooms, one of the nation’s largest amateur sports complexes, an acoustically perfect performing arts center, an award-winning living history museum, a nationally recognized outdoor concert venue, a thriving arts scene, championship golf courses, hall of fame bike trails, unique dining and shopping experiences and much more. The area maintains high quality of life, offers excellent school systems, and is fun, safe and affordable—all combined to make it one of the fastest growing counties in the state. HCT employs 22 people who work in administration, destination development, marketing, sales and visitor experience. The Hamilton County Sports Authority, a division of Hamilton County Tourism, oversees the sports market. By attracting visitors who spend money at community businesses, HCT’s efforts help drive the local economy.
