What Is Good Samaritan Family Resource Center?

Mission Good Samaritan has been offering immigrants and low income families support, knowledge and resources so they may participate fully in our shared San Francisco community for over 122 years. For the last 20 years, Good Samaritan has developed an effective two-generation strategy to disrupt intergenerational poverty, which means we focus on children's school readiness while also offering support and coaching to parents. Programs We partner with families to help them achieve their dreams. For children, Good Samaritan operates a Spanish-language preschool, school-based and afterschool programs and a variety of summer camps. Our youth programs focus on literacy, art, chess, computer coding, and outdoor learning activities. For adults, Good Samaritan offers case management, parent support groups and classes. We focus on family planning, healthy behaviors, literacy/school readiness, economic stability, socio-emotional well-being and English as a new language. No matter a person's entry point, Good Samaritan strengthens participant's social capital and peer networks. Located in San Francisco’s Mission and Bayview/Hunter’s Point neighborhoods, as well as in more than a dozen local public schools, we serve nearly 3,000 individuals annually.
