What Is Glasgow Prestwick Airport?

Glasgow Prestwick Airport offers the full range of aviation services including:\n\n• passenger and charter air travel\n• air cargo handling\n• training flights\n• MRO facilities (maintenance, repair and overhaul) \n• private and military aviation services\n• other fixed base operator services such as fuelling. \n\nPassenger routes include the Canary Islands, Balearics, Italy, Mainland Spain and Portugal. \n\nWe also offer property for businesses including offices, specialist properties, warehousing and hanger space. \n\nThe airport is open all year round 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and operates at Fire Category 7 with upgrades on request.\n\nWe have two runways. Our main runway is 2,986 meters in length – making it the longest commercial runway north of Manchester. \n\nThe airport is located approximately 30 miles south west of Glasgow - Scotland's largest city. \n\nIt boasts excellent transport connections including its own railway link and easy access to the wider motorway network. \n\nThe airport directly employs more than 300 staff and together with companies based in and around the airport we support more than 4,500 jobs. The airport currently contributes £61.6 million to the Scottish economy. \n\nGlasgow Prestwick Airport is working with partners to create an aerospace hub in Ayrshire for businesses involved in the space industry. \n\nThe airport is working towards becoming one of Europe’s first spaceports. If successful this could lead to the creation of 2,000 additional jobs and generate a further £320 million for the UK economy.\n\nGlasgow Prestwick Airport can also be used as a unique filming/photography location with many areas of our airport available for both large and small scale filming/photography for a fee.
