Glacier Products Ltd celebrates its 32nd birthday this year having been incepted in 1979 with a purpose of manufacturing and distributing world-class ice cream to consumers. The company manufactures and distributes 3 leading brands of ice cream 1. Dairyland ice cream – It's the company's flagship brand and its market cuts across the economic and social spectrum. 2. Amore Mia ice cream – There has been a growing niche of consumers who consume imported ice creams. Amore Mia is our premium brand to cater for that niche of up-market consumers who are want the best and are willing to pay extra for it. 3. Mio ice cream – For many years, ice cream was a product for the “well-to-doâ€. GPL introduced Mio as a cheap yet high quality ice cream within the reach of ordinary people. From a humble beginning and due to its dynamic nature, GPL brands have become market leaders in ice cream with a 35% market share in the East African region with over 10 players. The company now serves Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Southern Sudan through branch offices and distributors. We have a fleet of 19 refrigerated vehicles and over 1,200 freezers around East Africa. To ensure that are our products are always safe and hygienic for consumers we are have an in-house quality control and are currently in the process of getting certification for ISO 22000 2005 Food Safety Management Systems.
