What Is Girls on the Run-Chicago?
Girls on the Run-Chicago is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to inspire girls to be healthy and confident. Using a fun, experience-based after-school curriculum which creatively integrates running, the innovative program combines training for a 5k event with interactive lessons that encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development. Over the past 16 years, Girls on the Run-Chicago has served more than 70,000 girls aged 8-14 across eight Chicagoland counties. In 2018, more than 2,000 coaches will mentor 11,000 girls - empowering them with the confidence and character they need to become strong, healthy women.
