What Is George Matick Chevrolet?

George Matick Chevrolet has been serving Metro Detroit since 1967. Our goal is to make our guest's visit the most pleasant part of their day and provide the best value that can be found. We place a premium on the character and excellence of our employees, so that we can fulfill our commitment to earning our customers' confidence and repeat business. George Matick, Sr. entered the retail car business and ultimately held a variety of positions while learning the business and advancing his skills. After years of saving, learning nearly all aspects of the business, and earning the confidence of Chrysler Corporation, George Matick became a Dodge dealer in 1950. The dealership was on Grand River in Northwest Detroit and it was called Northwest Motor Sales. After George Matick, Sr.'s passing, George Matick, Jr. followed in his father's footsteps and continued to develop important relationships in our community. While Americans continued buying more and more cars and trucks through the 50's and 60's consumer's began to demonstrate their preference for what became known as America's brand: Chevrolet. It was then that Mr. Matick decided to buy the local Chevrolet dealership located on Joy Road, near Evergreen in 1967. The success of George Matick Chevrolet was nearly immediate. In fact, the popularity of Chevrolet and the growth of George Matick Chevrolet's business were so great that a larger facility became necessary. In 1998, after more than 50 years in the retail automotive business, George Matick Jr. decided to retire from day to day involvement in the business. He retains a keen interest in the business which he committed his life to, and now takes pride in helping to pass on his wisdom and guidance to his partner Karl Zimmermann. Karl continues to support our client and community relationships. At Matick Chevrolet we guarantee you will be completely satisfied. Let us prove that we can fill all your automotive needs. In 1977, just months before the opening of Interstate-96, George Matick Chevrolet bought what is now our current location. Our showroom has long been billed as the Largest Indoor Showroom in Michigan!
