What Is First Step House?
Established in 1958 by members of Alcoholics Anonymous, First Step House (FSH) has grown into a specialized treatment center providing low- income adult males with evidence-based substance use and behavioral health disorder treatment, as well as transitional housing. Through its outpatient and residential treatment programs, FSH serves over 300 men each year who are struggling with a substance use disorder. Although a majority of our clients come from the Salt Lake Metro area, First Step House is also a resource for communities throughout the state of Utah that lack effective and affordable substance use disorder treatment programs.
