What Is Ferndale Schools and Ferndale Educational Foundation?

Ferndale Public School district serves the cities of Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge and Oak Park as well as Royal Oak Township. Our mission is to provide all students with an exceptional education that prepares them for college, careers and success in a diverse society. We offer our students state champion athletics as well as regionally recognized fine arts programs. The Ferndale Education Foundation makes possible a wide range of unique learning opportunities for students in all Ferndale Public Schools. It does so through the generous support of people who share the Foundation's belief that every student must be challenged. FEF mini-grants enable our dedicated educators to inspire future generations. They provide equipment that enhances the learning experience, and they increase exposure to the arts, history and great literature. Grants also help students improve their scores on standardized tests. The Foundation supports an ambitious after-school tutoring program to improve reading and math skills and underwrites the cost of initiatives designed to help students from different backgrounds better understand each other with a goal of enhancing the educational experience.
