FOCUS was founded in 1993 by the three-time cyclocross world champion Mike Kluge, who is still involved in the brand development process and contributes his valuable experience. The high-performance brand, which has belonged to Derby Cycle since 1997, develops bikes for the ultimate riding experience. These include mountain bikes and e-mountain-bikes such as the full-suspension Jam2, but also racing bikes. FOCUS’s objective is always the SQUARED EXPERIENCE: For that, FOCUS develops particularly agile e-bikes that have the same riding performance like their equivalents without support but make full use of the advantages of e-drive systems. Derby Cycle is the largest bicycle manufacturer in Germany according to turnover. With its brands Kalkhoff, FOCUS, Raleigh, Univega and Rixe, Derby Cycle sells almost half a million cycles per year, including more than 100,000 e-bikes and pedelecs – in which segment Derby Cycle is the foremost operator in Germany. But Derby Cycle’s spectrum also includes competitive racing machines, mountain bikes, and high-quality trekking, city, off-road and children’s bicycles.
