What Is Employment and Community Options?

Vision “We envision a society that embraces all its members as full partners in their community.” Mission Options For All, formerly Employment & Community Options, seeks to create and support opportunities for adults with disabilities in making choices to live, work and enjoy life in their community with dignity and respect. Options For All is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing low-income adults with developmental disabilities new opportunities to lead fulfilling lives through employment, life-skills training and independent-living services. Over the past 30 years, Options For All successful programs have featured unparalleled services that provide direct and accessible training and support opportunities that allow these individuals to become productive, integral members of their communities. Options For All is proud of the role it plays in connecting businesses that need reliable workers with low-income adults looking to secure meaningful work. In California alone, there are currently 87,000 adults with developmental disabilities. Most are living on Supplemental Security Income, with a maximum benefit of $907 per month – well below the state per capita average of $28,049. In addition to the challenges they face due to their financial situation, they face challenges because of the very nature of their disabilities. Options For All's role is to empower low-income adults with developmental disabilities to overcome misunderstanding and prejudice through its proactive programs and services.
