We provide expert advice for teens who need a school, college or special program where they can grow and thrive. We work with parents and their teens in the Charleston, SC area and mainland US, via phone, email, Skype or HIPAA-compliant internet site when confidentiality is required. Claire has 16 years of experience in college and private school placement, as well as placing teens-at-risk into special needs programs. Prior to starting Educational Avenues, Inc, she worked in college admission and financial aid for ten years. Her husband Chip Law, joined Educational Avenues in 2000, and works with teens who are high performing scholars, athletes, artists, or have learning differences. We are professional members of the Independent Educational Consultant Association (IECA), Certified Professionals in the administration of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator® and Strong Interest Career Inventory®, instruments that we use to identify teen’s natural personality and learning style preferences. Claire is the co-author of "Find the Perfect College For You", an evaluation of psychological type in college. As a former director of international admissions she has guided many ex-pats and third-world kids find their paths at US and Canadian boarding schools and colleges. She's an Instructor at UC-Irvine for the Certificate in Independent Educational Consulting Program .Every student has unique gifts and talents that can be developed and grown in the right environment.
