EMK Consultants of Florida, Inc. (EMK) was formed in November of 1986 in Tampa, Florida as an extension of its similar operation in Denver, Colorado. EMK initiated its formation by seeking out the most qualified and experienced professionals in the Tampa Bay area. Mr. Earl Michaels, both as a registered professional engineer and a registered land surveyor, with over twenty-eight years of experience in design, planning and permitting of land development and public works projects was selected as President. Since that time, EMK has steadily grown to a staff of over thirty professionals and technicians. The hiring of our staff and support has been carefully directed over the years to find the right individuals who can complement each other and provide the experience and skills necessary to build a successful professional service firm in a highly competitive market. We feel we have been successful in this endeavor in that the majority of our work comes from satisfied, repeat clients. EMK has built a solid record of performance in providing services to both public and private sector clients. We have provided these services on a multitude of projects, throughout the State of Florida and abroad, which span all areas of our expertise. At EMK, we stay abreast of the latest technological advances in computer software and hardware and we accept the fact that competition will change and intensify. In response we develop and embrace new skills and apply nontraditional thinking to nontraditional problems. Our goal is to do what we do better. We achieve this goal not so much by quantum gains, but by a relentless search for continuous improvement in a never ending stream. At EMK, we recognize that we are a service business in a service industry. We also recognize that, for the most part, clients rarely see a difference between our products (i.e. plans, maps and reports) and the products of other firms. Therefore, the difference is in the service, and we are only as good as when we last offered our services. This is why we treat every project as if it were our own and we serve every client with that client's needs and objectives in mind. Our barometer on how well we adhere to our philosophy is the number of satisfied and repeat clients to whom we provide professional services.
