Do IT Smarter was created in 1999 to better serve the information technology needs of small and midsize organizations in San Diego. The company was originally established as a value-added reseller (VAR) specializing in Microsoft technologies. In 2000, Do IT Smarter began offering a comprehensive support package which included help desk services, on-site services, and remote monitoring and management services. This type of business computer support is commonly referred to as managed services; as such Do IT Smarter is now considered a managed service provider (MSP). In 2005, Do IT Smarter began offering its business and technical knowledge to VARs across the country. Do IT Smarter had already invested the time and money to learn, deploy, and use sophisticated technologies often used by enterprise organizations. Because Do IT Smarter made the transition from a VAR to a managed service provider (MSP), the company is in an excellent position to share their technology and business knowledge with other VARs that are considering a change to the MSP model. It is for this reason that Do IT Smarter has become the industry leader in transitioning VARs to MSPs. Today, Do IT Smarter offers more than just managed services. The company provides technical support, sales support, marketing support, and training to help VARs effectively develop a managed service practice. Through this nationwide network of local service providers, Do IT Smarter has created a web of trust and influence among customers, local service providers and technology vendors. This nationwide network provides access to skilled and knowledgeable partners across the country, allowing our partners to serve larger customers and streamline communication between various IT service companies.
