What Is Community Idea Stations?

The Community Idea Stations uses the power of media to educate, entertain and inspire. As a PBS and NPR member station, we create and broadcast content on our television and radio channels to promote lifelong learning. The Community Idea Stations is the largest locally owned and operated media company in the region. We reach more than 300,000 people of every age, demographic and income level in central Virginia through our television (WCVE, WCVW, WHTJ and WVPT) and radio (88.9 WCVE in Richmond, 89.1 WNVC in the Northern Neck, and 90.1 WMVE in Chase City) channels. The Community Idea Stations programming can also be accessed online at ideastations.org where viewers can stream On Demand content or listen to our radio shows through the station's HD1 and HD2 channels.
