What Is CommunicareNPC?
Communicare, an independent social enterprise, responds to the country’s massive housing crisis. We manage a growing residential portfolio in the affordable and social housing markets along with a small commercial portfolio. We own and manage over 3600 residential rental units in well-located areas in the Cape Town Metropole. This portfolio is set to grow rapidly over the next decade to increase the rental housing opportunities available in the social and affordable housing market segments. We cross-finance rental discounts with proceeds from our rentals in the affordable housing market and from our property development activities. Our social enterprise business model makes us the most sustainable provider of discounted rentals in South Africa. In addition, our social development arm, Vula’mathuba reduces vulnerability and promotes the economic progress of our tenants.
