Clear Lam Packaging, Inc. was founded in 1969 as a small regional plastics converter with limited product lines. Since that time, it has grown into a vertically integrated packaging group encompassing a variety of high-performance flexible and rigid packaging. Today, Clear Lam employs over 750 people in six plants located in the United States and China. Clear Lam has invested significantly to increase its manufacturing capabilities and product development services. Worldwide, the Clear Lam Packaging Group consists of 4 four operating divisions. The largest and most established is the Flexible Films Division, offering hundreds of specialty films that are laminated, extruded, printed and slit to custom or standard sizes. The group operates state-of-the-art ten-color printing presses. In addition, the Flexible Division manufactures its own co-extruded films and laminates with solventless and solvent-based adhesive systems. The Division supplies a variety of food processors, manufacturers of personal health care products, wet naps, electronics and industrial goods. The Clear Lam Thermoforming Division is the fastest-growing group within the Clear Lam family. It focuses its efforts on thermoformed APET and PLA containers used for baked goods, produce and meal solutions. The Thermoforming Division is highly integrated, with a dedicated, in-house engineering staff that provides custom designs that can be quickly converted into tooling within the Clear Lam on-site Tool and Die Center. The Division extrudes its own sheet and thermoformed parts using the largest platforms available in the industry. The Clear Lam Rigid Rollstock Division was established to focus its efforts on multilayer and monolayer formable rollstock. The Division extrudes its own Rigid and Semi-Rigid rollstock on high output, state-of-the-art systems. These materials are developed in-house to maximize barrier properties, puncture resistance, clarity, rigidity and economies. The Rigid Rollstock Division supplies food processors, specialty electronics manufacturers and industrial thermoformers demanding high quality engineered rollstock at economical costs. Clear Lam is proud to introduce EarthClear™ Earth-Friendly Packaging - packaging made with a minimal environmental impact in mind. Recognized as one of the world's largest extruder's and thermoformers of plant -derived plastics such as Ingeo™ PLA, Clear Lam is also one of the largest suppliers of cellophane- based materials. EarthClear™ packaging is made to fulfill customers sustainable, recyclable, degradable and lightweighting needs. Currently, Clear Lam is working on its most exciting environmental packaging to date: PrimaPak™, a new technology to produce a flexible stackable can that will replace heavy glass jars, metal cans and plastic bottles.
