Sparks is in a high desert climate at an elevation of nearly 4500 feet with four full seasons and sun shine almost 80% of the year. This makes Sparks perfect for outdoor special events like Hot August Nights, the Best in the West Rib Cook-off and even a Christmas Parade in December. We share our beautiful valley with our neighbor to the west, Reno. We are Nevada's fifth largest city, with a strong downtown business core and both established and newly developing residential neighborhoods.
