What Is City Beach?

City Beach Management Group was a business partnership formed and founded by Cary Riter in late 1991 for the development of a 23,000 square foot indoor recreational facility in Emeryville, California. Capitalized in April of 1992, City Beach Emeryville was opened for business the following October. Consisting of two beach sand courts, three hard surface sport courts, weight and fitness equipment, a restaurant cafe, and men's and women's locker rooms, City Beach Emeryville was the first prototype sport facility of its kind in the Western United States. Programs offered included leagues, classes, open play, tournaments, food & beverage service, memberships and birthday parties. City Beach is a playground that mixes entertainment, sports, food and drink, music, team building, meeting space, rock climbing, and retail all together, offering you an extraordinary experience in an ordinary world. The goal of City Beach is to serve as the destination for group parties, meetings and events, to give the public a stimulating experience through our attractions, facilitates corporate training and development team building programs, and to host a variety of top quality sports leagues.
