Ciitizen is a health technology platform that enables patients with cancer and rare neurologic disorders to collect, digitize, and share their health information. Funded by Andreessen-Horowitz and founded by serial entrepreneur and former head of Health at Apple (Anil Sethi), it began with the simple idea that anyone should be able to manage their own medical records, but was motivated by the harder reality of helping Anilᅢᄁ¬ツᆲ¬トᄁs own sister fight her battle with cancer. Having access to all of your data (blood tests, imaging, genomics, etc.) in one place is critical for coordinating patientᅢᄁ¬ツᆲ¬トᄁs care and giving them the opportunity to make the best possible - fully informed - decisions. It is not uncommon for a patientᅢᄁ¬ツᆲ¬トᄁs medical record to exceed 1,000 pages from 10+ providers across the country and Ciitizen was founded to minimize this burden Collecting medical records is the first hurdle patients face since each provider has their own process for receiving record requests. Once a patient has their records, storing 1,000+ pages can be a challenge; some patients even carry a heavy physical file folder to their appointments. Finally, sharing that many pages in a format that physicians or caregivers can quickly review to make treatment decisions is nearly impossible. Our mission is for patients to control their healthcare data so that they can control their healthcare options.
