What Is Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center (CDTC)?

Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) was established in 1983 and has grown to become one of the largest children’s agencies in South Florida, serving more than 11,000 children and youth annually. The Center provides medical care, case management, social services and other types of intervention to children and adolescents with chronic illnesses and development disabilities as well as support and education to their families. CDTC Programs Include: ● Early Steps - helping infants and toddlers, birth to 36 months of age, who have developmental delays or an established condition likely to result in a developmental delay. ● Comprehensive Family AIDS Program - providing primary care, specialty HIV medical care, medical case management and support services to women, youth, children and infants who are infected or affected by HIV ● Research – one of two non-university NIH funded research sites studying the impact of HIV/AIDS on infants, children, adolescents and pregnant women through the US and worldwide. ● Primary Care Clinic- serving children with medically complex conditions in Broward County and their families regardless of ability to pay. ● Extraordinary Children, Healthy Outcomes (ECHO) – coordinating care for children from birth to 17 who have a developmental disability or are at risk for one. ● Lift a Child to Health – assisting parents with children who are at rising risk and needing assistance with medical management of their child’s health to prevent it worsening into a complex medical condition. ●Transition Adolescents Forward into Tomorrow (TAFT) – helping families with special needs children navigate the change from pediatric care to the adult healthcare system. ● Dental Clinic – providing on-site dental care for children with special needs and their siblings. ● Targeted Outreach for Pregnant Women Act (TOPWA) - community outreach and education for high-risk women or HIV-infected women not receiving services.
