ChickTech is a nonprofit organization dedicated to retaining women in the technology workforce and increasing the number of women and girls pursuing technology-based careers. We are a movement that will create industry-wide change by providing a pool of talent with new perspectives while empowering girls and women to choose a path toward a fulfilling, well-paid career. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events to empower, support, and increase the confidence of women and girls. Through our events, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing high tech industry. ChickTech: High School is a year-long series of opportunities for a cohort of 100 high school girls in each city, including mentoring and hands-on workshops. We broaden the tech pipeline by finding high school girls with untapped tech potential and providing them with workshops, mentoring, and other opportunities to get more engaged with the tech industry. ChickTech: College is a program designed to connect women in STEM majors at colleges and universities across the globe with informal peer and industry mentorships, community connection, and give-back opportunities. Our goal is that this program will increase community and women's ability to be successful in a technology career. ChickTech: Rural consists of after-school clubs and school kits, providing K-8 girls and teachers from rural communities in Oregon and Washington with national community support, resources and materials, and a network of partnerships to help girls excel in and out of the classroom on their path to a technology career. ACT-W (Advancing the Careers of Technical Women) Events & Conferences provide a community, networking opportunities, and continued education opportunities for women in a technical or near-tech career. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging and confidence in our participants.
