The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency, an organization which reports directly to the Governor's Office in the Executive Branch of California State Government.\n\nThe mission of the California Air Resources Board is to promote and protect public health, welfare and ecological resources through the effective and efficient reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering the effects on the economy of the state.\n\nCARB's major goals are to:\nProvide safe, clean air to all Californians\nProtect the public from exposure to toxic air contaminants\nReduce California's emission of greenhouse gases\nProvide leadership in implementing and enforcing air pollution control rules and regulations\nProvide innovative approaches for complying with air pollution rules and regulations\nBase decisions on best possible scientific and economic information\nProvide quality customer service to all ARB clients
