What Is CGTN America?
CGTN America is the U.S. production arm of China Global Television Network, or CGTN. With the launch of China CGTN on December 31, 2016, a new international satellite news channel entered the global news market. CGTN consists of six channels in five languages, including a 24-hour English-language news service and a documentary channel CGTN is headquartered in Beijing, China. Additional reporting hubs are open in Washington, D.C. (“CGTN America”) and Nairobi, Africa (“CGTN Africa”). A European production center will open in London's Chiswick Park in 2019. CGTN’s mission is to create quality content in English that educates, informs and inspires. To do this, CGTN offers TV and digital content that challenges the status quo, documentaries that open up new worlds, non-commercialized news programs that keep citizens informed on world events and programs that introduce Chinese culture to the rest of the world.
