What Is Boys and Girls Clubs of Harford and Cecil Counties?
In 2018, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford and Cecil Counties merged to become the largest Boys & Girls Clubs in Maryland. Serving more than 7,500 youth annually, the Clubs unlock the potential for children to become thriving members of their community by providing them with the opportunity to achieve more. For more than 25 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford and Cecil Counties have developed a reputation for helping kids who need them most. This dedication carries over to its Board of Directors, who won a 2017 Silver Award from the Boys & Girls Club of America for engagement and 100% individual contributions in 2016. Known for serving more kids, more often, the Clubs make a difference in the community by providing services in five core areas: Character and Leadership Development; Health & Life Skills; Education & Career Development; the Arts; and Sports, Fitness and Recreation. Youth development programs include: Character & Leadership Development (Keystone Club, Torch Club, Youth of the Year) Education & Career Development (Project Learn, Power Hour, Career Launch , tutoring, job shadowing, field trips, STEM programs, tech) Health & Life Skills (SMART Moves (drug, tobacco, alcohol resistance), SMART Girls, Passport to Manhood, Healthy Habits) The Arts (Image Makers, National Fine Arts Exhibit) Sports, Fitness & Recreation (Triple Play: Mind, Body & Soul) MISSION: To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. We provide Hope and Opportunities to all youth for a nominal $20/per year fee. Additional fees are charged for summer programs.
