What Is Blue J Legal?
Blue J Legal uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to bring absolute clarity to the law, everywhere and on-demand. Blue J Legal's initial product, Tax Foresight, helps tax professionals make judgments for clients that are faster, more accurate, and predictably the same as the decisions that tax enforcement agencies and courts would reach in the same situation. Tax Foresight addresses a range of legal issues including income vs. capital, residency, worker classification, directors' liability, and the general anti-avoidance rule (GAAR). Blue J Legal launched its second product, Employment Foresight, in November, 2017. Employment Foresight is an AI-enabled software that helps HR professionals, in-house counsel, and employment lawyers get rapid clarity on how the courts would resolve several challenging employment law issues. Among the legal issues addressed by the software are reasonable notice, employee drug testing, worker classification, managerial exemption to overtime, constructive dismissal, and cause for dismissal. While the company is beginning with tax and employment law, the technology is versatile and is being extended to cover other areas of law in the U.S., Canada and around the world.
