What Is Big Talk Productions?

Big Talk Productions is one of the UK's leading film and television production companies. It has a fantastic slate of original TV comedy and drama, and a track record in developing and nurturing talent such as Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright whose cult television series Spaced paved the way for Big Talk’s hit films Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Paul.\r\n \r\nIn recent years Big Talk has gone from strength to strength with a string of award winning productions including BAFTA-award winning Rev. (BBC2), RTS Best Comedy Performance winning Him & Her (BBC3), Friday Night Dinner (Channel 4) and Threesome (Comedy Central). Recent successes in 2013 include Ambassadors (BBC Two), starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb, and Chickens (Sky 1), written by and starring Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, and Jonny Sweet. New in 2014 will be Raised By Wolves, written by Caitlin and Caroline Moran for Channel 4, and The Job Lot returns for a second series on ITV2.\r\n \r\nBig Talk made its mark in drama programming in 2013 with the second series of A Young Doctor’s Notebook & Other Stories (Sky Arts), starring Jon Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe, which won a Broadcast Award in 2014 for Best Multi-Channel Programme. Youngers (E4), proved to be a big hit in 2013, and has returned for its second series in May 2014. New titles include Nick Frost vehicle Mr Sloane (Sky Atlantic) from Emmy-award winning writer and director Robert Weide.\r\n \r\nBig Talk’s credits include all of Edgar Wright’s films to date: Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World, and most recently The World’s End. We also produced Greg Mottola’s Paul, written by and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost with Kristen Wiig. Joe Cornish’s debut feature Attack the Block was released to critical acclaim in 2011, winning all four Audience Awards at Sitges, SXSW, the LAFF and Fantasia International Film Festival.
