What Is Bay Point Advisors?

Bay Point Advisors, LLC is an investment advisory firm focused on absolute value, high current income and low volatility returns. We emphasize performance over growth and have a contrarian bias to investing. \n\nThe firm originates and invests in short-term, senior secured, deep loan-to-value bridge loans to small businesses, specialty finance and seasoned real estate holdings in the US. We allocate capital to niche markets that are difficult to access, require in-depth research, and are less efficient. We seek to avoid the disruptive forces associated when massive capital flows overwhelm income generating sectors in the relentless search for yield. \n\nSince the banking crisis of 2008/2009, increased regulatory pressure on banks has diminished the flow of capital to small businesses, and significantly increased the need for private lending. While many of these remote markets have existed for decades, and have a history of generating attractive returns, the disruption of the sovereign bond markets by central banks and the loss of confidence in the credit markets after the financial crisis has increased the relative isolation of these niche markets. Low central bank policy rates, bank consolidation and increased regulation have resulted in massive capital flows into the government debt of developed countries and the corporate debt of large companies through the issuance of corporate bonds or syndicated loans. These large capital flows to governments and corporations have effectively lowered the cost of capital for good and bad performers alike, while starving most small businesses of growth capital. Bay Point has stepped in to fill the void in small business lending.
