The Baptist State Convention of North Carolina (BSCNC) was established in 1830 as a way for churches to accomplish more for Godâ??s kingdom by working together.\n\nThe BSCNC, which cooperates with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), includes 77 local Baptist associations and about 4,300 churches. Our cooperating churches are autonomous, and each church voluntarily decides to join the BSCNC in ministry and missions efforts. Gifts through the Cooperative Program and the North Carolina Missions Offering make the missions and ministries of the BSCNC possible.\n\nThe BSCNC staff operate under the supervision of a board of directors, which is comprised of pastors and lay people from member churches across the state.\n\nOur Beliefs \nOur beliefs reflect the scriptural truths presented in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.\n\nOur Mission\nTo assist the churches in their divinely appointed mission.\n\nOur Vision\nâ??By Godâ??s grace, we will become the strongest force in the history of this convention for reaching people with the message of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.â?? â?? Milton A. Hollifield Jr., Executive Director-Treasurer\n\nOur Strategy\nOur strategy focuses on â??impacting lostness through disciple-making.â??\n\nCore Values\nThe Seven Pillars for Ministry are biblical concepts that serve as core values to help the state convention stay focused on its mission, which is to assist North Carolina Baptist churches in achieving what God has called them to do.\n\nThe Seven Pillars are:\n1. Practice fervent prayer.\n2. Promote evangelism and disciple-making.\n3. Strengthen existing churches.\n4. Plant new multiplication churches.\n5. Reach North Carolinaâ??s international community.\n6. Embrace unreached and unengaged people groups.\n7. Engage young church leaders.
