BalletNova Center for Dance (formerly Arlington Center for Dance/The Center Dance Company) is dedicated to educating and mentoring dancers in a positive, nurturing environment and preserving the traditions of classical ballet through quality dance productions and education. The Center has been part of the Northern Virginia cultural community since 1981, producing accessible and affordable dance performances that inspire and entertain. BalletNova offers all levels of children's pre-professional Ballet curriculum, plus Modern, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop for youth dancers. BalletNova has one of the most comprehensive adult dance programs in the DC Metropolitan area and offers beginner - intermediate/advanced levels in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz and conditioning. In July 2008, BalletNova moved into a beautiful 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art space with five fully finished dance studios. By September 2010 BalletNova's sixth studio will become a black-box studio performance space, the only one designed for dance in Northern Virginia. BalletNova's popular production of The Nutcracker has become an annual tradition at the Thomas Jefferson Theatre in Arlington, and is enjoyed by thousands of families every year.
