AwesomenessTV was founded on June 12, 2012 by Brian Robbins (Smallville, Varsity Blues, All That) and Joe Davola (One Tree Hill, In Living Color, Smallville, MTV Networks).[4] One year after the company was established, AwesomenessTV was acquired by DreamWorks Animation for $33 million in cash, it's one of the first acquisitions of a Multi-channel network by a larger corporation and the largest deals of its kind at that time.[9]
