Established in 1908, the Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) is a charitable trust made up of 107 kindergartens and 4 KiNZ early learning centres, and 5 Playgroups located throughout the greater Auckland region. At the AKA, we provide a safe and enriching learning environments where children can develop as confident and competent learners. Our centres offer quality Early Childhood Education (ECE) that is inclusive of the diversity of children, parents and whanau that attend. We believe that children learn and develop best when they are nurtured and extended by teachers who are responsive and who share with the child an understanding of the world. We value the importance of children’s play in developing meaningful learning experiences. Our centres have gardens and outdoor spaces where children can play and express themselves. Our teachers are qualified and registered and teaching practice reflects current theories of learning and development.
