AWEC, the Association of Women Executives in Corrections, is the active voice of women executives in corrections working towards reasoned change and the development of future leaders. Chartered in 1996, the Association is now a 501c3 corporation and has grown from 20 members to over 200 nationally. Since inception, the guiding principle of AWEC has been to build future correctional leadership capacity for women by fulfilling its motto, \Each One, Teach One.\ Membership is by application.
