What Is Applied Engineering Concepts (AEC)?

Applied Engineering Concepts (AEC) is a professional corporation providing outstanding, prompt, reliable and complete electrical testing and engineering. AEC is a NETA Full Member company and an IBEW, Local 11 union member. The company was founded and incorporated in August of 1994. The firm has its headquarters in the Los Angeles area and provides services throughout the United States and Canada. Applied Engineering Concepts is capable of providing a broad range of acceptance and maintenance testing for electrical power distribution equipment and systems to meet jurisdictional, maintenance, or engineering requirements. In addition to electrical testing, other services provided include complete electrical design, engineering and forensic studies and expert testimony. Tests routinely performed include ground resistance (fall of potential method), ground fault protective systems (GFI), insulation resistance (Megger), dielectric voltage withstand (Hi-pot), transformer TTR, leakage current, contact resistance (ductor), thermographic, power quality, power demand, medium voltage equipment evaluated and tested, including unit substation switches, circuit breakers and transformers. Additionally, AEC provides short circuit and protective device coordination studies. The studies are performed by SKM complete with summary reports for each study. Our mission is to ensure that electrical power systems are safe, efficient and reliable.
