Journey Group Companies has joined forces with Ainsworth-Benning Construction, Inc., a Spearfish, SD based general contractor, through an acquisition by Journey Group. Ainsworth-Benning, a 65-year-old company, has 95 employees and provides services in western South Dakota, western North Dakota, and eastern Wyoming. All the valued employees will remain after the acquisition. The company will do business as Ainsworth-Benning Construction, A Journey Group Company. Ainsworth-Benning has a rich history of successful projects serving clients in the markets they operate, including commercial and industrial buildings, as well as heavy highway and land development sectors. Journey Group Companies, a Sioux Falls, SD based Construction Management/General Contracting firm, has 150 employees with four construction units and operates in eastern South Dakota, southwest Minnesota, northwest Iowa and northeast Nebraska. Journey Group will proudly continue the legacy of Ainsworth-Benning, built by Jim Benning and his team. This acquisition will strengthen both Ainsworth-Benning and Journey Group to better serve its customers through shared core values and a common mission of building relationships.
