Established in 2005, Acorn Care and Education is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist education, foster care and residential care for vulnerable children and young people.\n\nAcorn was acquired in August 2016 and is now part of The NFA Group, the largest independent provider of children's services in the UK. \n\nAcorn Care and Education provides the highest standards of care to just under 2000 foster children, together with over 800 children in 16 well-resourced Special Educational Needs Schools and specialised residential care\n\nAcorn’s fostering division is the third largest provider of foster care services in England, operating under the brands Fostering Solutions, Pathway Care Fostering and Heath Farm Fostering.\n\nIn 2013, Acorn also became the sponsor of seven Alternative Provision Academies in Cornwall.
