What Is A New Age of Material Design?

QuesTek Innovations LLC is a recognized global leader in Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) technologies and has the expertise and resources to efficiently create new metal alloys meeting mission-specific properties. QuesTek uses its proprietary Materials by Design® methodology to rapidly design, develop, test and insert new high-performance materials. As examples, QuesTek has introduced four new Ferrium® steels through our licensees that are aerospace qualified and are used in some of the most demanding industrial and aerospace applications. Recent developments have included creation of the first high-temperature aluminum alloy for additive manufacturing, which is finding application in the creation of finished parts for aerospace, motorsports and other challenging environments. QuesTek capabilities support all major alloy classes including aluminum, copper, cobalt, nickel, titanium, iron, steel, tungsten, niobium, molybdenum, magnesium, and high-entropy alloys. In addition to ICME material development, QuesTek has extensive lab and shop resources, allowing physical material testing, and prototype fabrication. QuesTek and its clients also benefit from the company's proximity to and relationship with the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern University. QuesTek is based in Evanston, IL USA. In 2016 we formed QuesTek Europe AB, a Joint Venture with Thermo-Calc in Stockholm, Sweden to provide services in Europe. In 2020 we founded QuesTek Japan K.K. with Itochu Techno-Solutions (CTC) due to a growing interest ICME-based materials modeling and design in Japan.
