What Is AMS Mechanical Systems?

More than 35 years ago, John Berzanskis, Sr. started AMS Mechanical Systems, Inc., formerly Antarctic Refrigeration. His simple premise was to provide honest, reliable service to the refrigeration industry. Nearly four decades later, assumed by his son, John F. Berzanskis, Jr., the company still operates under the same premise. Combining excellent service with a reputation for quality and integrity, along with a rapidly growing food industry, AMS flourished throughout the Chicago area. In the 1970's, AMS continued to grow and expand in new directions. A strong background and a conscientious approach to client's needs enabled AMS to grow naturally into the retrofit market for industrial ammonia refrigeration. These capabilities became the foreground, which would ultimately serve as the foundation for the future. In 1978 the business was purchased by John F. Berzanskis, Jr. With long-term goals in mind, in 1985, John formed an ownership team with Dennis J. Kiley, a 35-year veteran of the mechanical contracting industry. This was the nucleus for the company which would soon be recognized as an industry leader. With years of cumulative experience, dedication, and commitment, the partnership established a strong operation and project management team which still is the backbone of AMS today.
