The Dayton Society of Natural History is the parent organization for the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, SunWatch Indian Village/Archaeological Park, and Fort Ancient Earthworks and Nature Preserve (managed on behalf of Ohio History Connection). At the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery visitors can participate in hands-on science in the DO-Lab, watch a demonstration in Science Theater, slide down the static slide, float a boat in the water table, visit our live animal zoo, or view images of Earth and space in Science On a Sphere®. At Fort Ancient Earthworks and Nature Preserve, discover Ohio's ancient past at this 2,000-year-old site comprised of 3 1/2 miles of earthworks that were constructed over a nearly 400 year period. The museum encompasses 15,000 years of Ohio history, and offers a hands-on classroom and access to a prehistoric-themed garden.
