Nichols Brothers Boat Builders was established in 1964 in Freeland, Washington on Whidbey Island by the late Frank Nichols after leaving his Father’s Boatyard - Nichols Boat Works - in Hood River, Oregon. Frank stuck with what he knew, boat building, and found that Whidbey Island offered people who valued an honest living, were accustomed to working hard, and had a passion for quality craftmanship. With a team of men and women Nichols Brothers Boat Builders began. Honest living – At NBBB we value our employees and invest in their careers. We have over 30 individuals who have been with us continuously for 20+ years. We strive to give them a great place to work with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Hard work – NBBB recognizes that boat building is hard work. With rapid growing new technology, tooling, and equipment we strive to provide our employees the latest resources to do their jobs and do them well. Quality craftmanship – Since 1964 Nichols Brothers focus has been quality craftmanship. For generations our leaders have invested their time, energy and knowledge in the development of others. It is important to our supervisors that each member of their team grow individually and have a sense of pride in their work, this is what makes a great craftsman.
