The Zebrafish International Resource Center is housed on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene. Its mission is to provide a central repository for wild-type, mutant, and transgenic strains of zebrafish (Danio rerio). We also provide veterinary health services for zebrafish facilites. Standards and procedures for maintaining healthy strains of zebrafish are being developed. A manual, "Diseases of Zebrafish in Research Facilities, for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases affecting zebrafish", is available online. We also provide other biomedical research materials and information about zebrafish research. Our services, materials and zebrafish strains are distributed to the research community via our web site http://zebrafish.org.
