About
The West Virginia Coalition to End Homelessness Balance of State Continuum of Care, also known as WVCEH, is a private non-profit located in Bridgeport, WV. A team of 5 staff members, a robust Board of Directors, Balance of State Project Sponsors and WVCEH Associates are committed to its mission -- to prevent and end homelessness in West Virginia. The WVCEH is driven by the belief that, through collaboration, education, and ingenuity in data collection and service provision, this goal can be achieved. The Coalition to End Homelessness serves three main functions in the state of West Virginia. First, it acts as the primary advocacy agency for homeless services and issues, promoting education, best practices and advancements in the field. Next, the Coalition is a HUD-designated Balance of State Continuum of Care, acting as the primary decision making entity representing a community plan to organize and deliver housing to those at-risk or experiencing homelessness in 44 of West Virginia's 55 counties. Finally, the Coalition to End Homelessness acts as the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Lead Agency for the Balance of State Continuum of Care, designating an HMIS solution, Bowman Systems ServicePoint, for the 44 counties that it represents, providing hardware, training, and ongoing technical assistance.
