Moore County Hospital District (MCHD) is an award winning, Joint Commission accredited, Critical Access Hospital located in the High Plains of Texas in the town of Dumas. MCHD serves a population base that covers six counties and consistently performs alongside top hospitals in the nation, both rural and urban, in clinical measures, patient satisfaction, and employee satisfaction. MCHD is a recipient of the Hurst Gold Standard of Nursing Award, the Studer Excellence in Patient Care Award, the TORCH Light award, the Joint Commission Top Performer award, the Texas Healthcare Quality Improvement Award, the Studer Healthcare Partner of the Month award, the Home Care Elite award, and more. MCHD hospital inpatient services include, med surg & icu, labor & delivery, surgical services, imaging, lab, respiratory, nutritional, social services, swing bed, and patient education. Outpatient services include: home health, hospice, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, sleep lab, surgical services, and self-referral mammography. MCHD currently employs eight physicians and runs six physician clinics including: Moore County General Surgery, Moore County Foot & Ankle, Moore County Internal Medicine, Moore County Bone & Joint, Moore County Obstetrics & Gynecology, and the Moore County Family Health Clinic. Emergency services include: 24/7 trauma level IV emergency department and EMS services. The District also owns and operates the Memorial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a newly renovated 56 bed nursing home.
