About
Harry N. Abrams, Inc.(HNA), is the preeminent American publisher of high-quality art and illustrated books. Founded by Harry N. Abrams in 1949, the company was the first in this country to specialize in the creation and distribution of art books. HNA publishes and distributes approximately 250 titles annually and currently has more than 1,500 titles in print. HNA also serves as distributor for publications of The Vendome Press, The Whitney Museum of American Art, Booth-Clibborn Editions, Royal Academy of Arts, Tate Publishing, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Prior to the establishment of HNA, nearly all important art books were imported from Europe. HNA art books established a completely new market in the United States. HNA publications also began to appear in Europe, translated into many languages. Within a few years, millions of copies had been sold on both continents.
