ounded in 1950 with 10 employees in a small Bavarian town in Germany, HBM (Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik) has become a leading international manufacturer in the field of test and measurement. The first products developed and produced by Karl Hottinger were amplifiers and inductive displacement transducers. In 1955, the company moved to Darmstadt, Germany, and the production of strain gages commenced, marking the beginning of an on-going success story. The next decades were characterized by expansion and innovation: Already in 1973, HBM founded its US subsidiary in Marlborough, USA. In 1997, a Chinese subsidiary along with production facilities was founded in Suzhou. In 2008, HBM expanded its portfolio with additional Data Acquisition Systems (DAQ)data acquisition instruments and software solutions by purchasing the companies nCode, LDS and SoMat.
