The Everett Housing Authority was chartered in October 1942 as a municipal corporation to provide low-income housing.
There are six Commissioners who are appointed by the Mayor of the City of Everett to serve five-year terms. The Commissioners in turn select the Executive Director.
The Everett Housing Authority owns, operates and maintains 1305 units of housing for seniors, disabled/handicapped and low-income families within the City of Everett. The Authority provides housing assistance subsidy payments for 2872 seniors and families who rent private sector homes under the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program.
The Executive Director supervises five Directors who are responsible for approximately 100 FTE’s and approximately 10 part-time workers in the Finance, Housing Management, Resident Services, Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8), and Facilities Departments.
