Momar, Incorporated was founded in 1947 as a manufacturer of specialty maintenance chemicals. Headquartered in Atlanta for over half a century, Momar has been recognized as one of the top 100 privately held companies in the city. One of the main reasons for Momar's success is that it remains committed to the sales and business philosophies of its late founder, Sam Mohr. Sam Mohr was a long time chemical salesperson in Atlanta, writing over $500,000 (the equivalent of several million dollars today) in maintenance chemical business in the year before he founded Momar. Then, on January 1st, 1947, when Momar became a reality, Sam Mohr approached every aspect of the business from a successful "salesperson's perspective." Having had a lot of experience with different management styles and practices, he saw that they often reflected the attitudes of the owners of the businesses. Now a business owner himself, Sam shaped his own philosophy of business around creating successful salespeople. His guidelines for Momar's management, faithfully protected and executed by his son, Julian Mohr, are still the foundation upon which all of our day-to-day decisions are made. Sam Mohr demanded that every decision to be made at Momar be made with the salesperson's best interest in mind first and foremost. The question becomes, what has that unique philosophy brought to Momar in the last fifty-five years in business? Well, it's brought an increase in sales each and every year that the Company has been in existence. Most importantly, it's allowed us to keep the best and most experienced salespeople of any company in our industry. All of these benefits to our salespeople have a direct benefit to our customers. Having the best salespeople means having the best relationships with our customers. Salespeople who have a strong Company behind them, a Company that makes products that work, and a Company that remains flexible and always willing to tackle a customer's new challenges and problems no matter how difficult; those salespeople are the ones who add value to their customers' places of business. We work hard to keep our customers happy. We manufacture and quality control test every product that leaves our facility. We are constantly striving to come up with new and innovative ways to help our salespeople help our customers solve their problems. Since this Company was created, there has been persistent and consistent growth in the number and quality of the products we manufacture, as well as in the number of new product Divisions within the Organization. We now have five separate Divisions, all of which are designed to give our salespeople more quality solutions to an ever-widening scope of problems and needs in the marketplace.
