Incorporated in October 1995, Redwood Community Services (formerly Redwood Children's Services) began as a Foster Family Agency with a vision to grow and expand services to provide a total “Care Package†of support to at risk youth, adults and families in our communities. RCS has grown into a multi-program ‘Family Services Agency’ expanding services to provide a comprehensive continuum of care. Redwood Community Services is uniquely poised to partner with the Mendocino County Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA) to implement Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention Services-Differential Response, strength based and family centered response designed to help ensure the safety, permanency and well-being of children and youth at the earliest signs of child abuse and/or neglect. Redwood Community Services has partnered with HHSA for over 22 years to ensure safe environments for Mendocino County’s most vulnerable children through a variety of programs designed to enhance lives and strengthen families. A consistent thread throughout our history has been program development individualized to meet each family and centered on keeping children safe and families together.
