About
The Agricultural Institute of Marin (AIM) is a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit organization which organizes seven year-round certified farmers markets, a seasonal market, and a mobile market in three Bay Area counties, thereby supporting local farmers, strengthening local economies, increasing food access, and improving public health. For 35+ years, AIM has been passionately educating the public about the health, environmental, and economic benefits of buying locally grown food directly from farmers, while connecting and supporting communities and local and regional food systems so the public can access healthy and sustainably grown food. Our seven-year round Certified Markets operate rain or shine: Marin Farmers Market - Sunday & Thursday Clement St. Farmers Market - Sunday Stonestown Farmers Market - Sunday Grand Lake Oakland Farmers Market - Saturday Hayward Farmers Market - Saturday Newark Farmers Market - Saturday Our markets provide quality and authentic interactions with the 350+ participants farmers, ranchers, fishers, food purveyors, and artisans. We run a farm audit program where all certified producers are audited to ensure they grow what they sell. All of our markets promote affordability by accepting CalFresh/EBT, WIC and Senior FMNP, and offer a Market Match for fruits and vegetables. We offer our Diggin' educational programs - on the farm, at the market, and the classroom. Each year, we empower thousands of youth to make healthy food choices that will positively impact their long-term health. Our programs offer need-based scholarships. We operate the Rollin’ Root, a food truck stocked with seasonal fruits, vegetables, and dairy products from the farmers market. AIM’s goal is to ensure that all members of our community have access to fresh fruits and vegetables, regardless of transportation or economic barriers. We currently serve 11 locations on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays with a focus on older adult communities and food deserts.
